Jars full of promise

This morning in the welcome sunshine Growing Space art participants filled jars with plants growing outside the art room, including forget-me-nots, flowering rosemary, dandelions and more.

Even with this small range of plants in the raised terrace borders, each jar was filled in a distinct way. One seasoned participant took on the task of beginning a model courtyard garden and painting ready for the next stage.

We began a lift the flap garden on a roll of paper, after seeing my short video of a previous workshop at Hereford Museum, inspired by Humphry Reptons Red Books of before and after views.

Today most of the features were hand drawn, coloured in, cut out and fully stuck down, including a detailed drawing of a pond.

In the last few minutes of the session we added a winter-flowing stream, a basket of garden produce and a folly.
